INTERNATIONAL WOMEN’S DAY – A CELEBRATION OVER LUNCH

On Friday 6 March Cafe Sydney, in partnership with the Sydney Opera House, hosted our third annual International Women’s Day luncheon featuring an in-conversation with acclaimed journalist and author Amy Wallace, ahead of her appearance at the Sydney Opera House’s All About Women festival.
‘Across a career spanning over three decades, Wallace’s work has amplified women’s voices and examined power, accountability and truth, most recently in collaboration with Virginia Roberts Giuffre in the writing of her memoir ‘Nobody’s Girl’, published posthumously in 2025’. A former Los Angeles Times reporter who contributed to two staff-wide Pulitzer Prizes, Wallace’s writing has appeared in GQ, Wired, The New Yorker, Vanity Fair, Esquire and The New York Times Magazine.
The moving conversation shared insight into the collaborative process between Amy and Virginia and how Virginia’s trailblazing fight for justice which started in 2011 continues to impact survivors and drive global conversations centred around power, accountability and justice.
Guests enjoyed canapés, Pommery Champagne and Archie Rose cocktails on arrival, followed by a two-course menu curated by Cafe Sydney Executive Chef Sarahjane Brown, alongside Nicole Oatley Wine – NOW, Robert Oatley ‘Finisterre’ and Antipodes Water.
