At Cafe Sydney we love the shift in seasons and the fresh produce it brings; capturing ingredients in their finest state. With seasonal produce the hero of Cafe Sydney’s menu, this month sees a transition of dishes and flavours. “As late February hits, we are squeezing the last out of summer, enjoying fresh peaches, figs, cherries, tomatoes and basil which are all fantastic. We have an eye towards autumn but with summer influences” James Kidman, Executive Chef.
James Kidman invites you to indulge in the recently transformed menu, featuring appetisers such as Cured salmon belly, bug tail, apple, celery, lemon creme fraiche, chardonnay vinegar, salmon roe….. Nimbin Valley goat cheese tart, tomato, pine nut, crisp eggplant, basil, balsamic
Grilled baby octopus, salt cod croquette, pea puree, squid ink mayonnaise, lemon, sorrel ….. Poached prawn, spanner crab, avocado cream, fennel, prawn mayonnaise, crouton, lemon
The key player on the menu remains premium Australian seafood; the essence of Cafe Sydney’s portfolio of flavours.
One of our favourite Sunday’s of the year is just around the corner.
This year for Mother’s Day we’re doing our usual long, lazy lunch to be enjoyed beside the best view of the harbour in Sydney.
The delicious three course menu ($120 per person) comprises lots of choices per course to satisfy every taste bud. And for budding young gourmets, a three course children’s menu has been prepared for $55.
Mother’s Day is always a popular occasion at Cafe Sydney so we do advise to book early by phoning 02 9251 8683 or emailing email@example.com.
In response to your many requests, we’re delighted to open for Saturday lunch from January 2019 with our full menu now available from 12 noon through to dinner, to enjoy anytime, all day.
Our team will embrace the season and offer monthly collaborations of the latest and greatest in produce, wine and cocktails to curate an indulgent afternoon.
January will see Cafe Sydney come together with Perrier Jouët to celebrate the new year. Enjoy the sunny environment and treat yourself to Perrier Jouët Blason Rosé by the glass, the bottle, or in a custom made champagne cocktail.

As leading go to guide, Urban List said when naming our Salted Caramel Martini No 7 in its top 50 Best Cocktails “its not just Cafe Sydney’s sweeping panoramic views that make it such a popular destination….. it’s the perfect spot for a long lunch, romantic dinner or a celebratory cocktail.” But don’t wait to for a celebration to enjoy this totally decadent liquid indulgence. Our Cafe Sydney mixologists have perfected the right balance of vodka, schnapps, kahlua, salted caramel sauce and yes, fresh cream. Try it at home too.
Cafe Sydney’s Salted Caramel Martini:

15ml x Teichenne Butterscotch Schnapps
15ml x Kahlua
20ml x Salted Caramel sauce

Coat a martini glass rim with sea salt (try rubbing a thin layer of Schnapps around the rim to help the salt stick)
Combine all ingredients in a shaker with ice
Briskly shake, then strain into glass
