SATURDAY LUNCH

CAFE SYDNEY LOVES….. SEASONAL SENSATIONS

At Cafe Sydney we love the shift in seasons and the fresh produce it brings, capturing ingredients in their finest state. Seasonality, using the best possible produce, is a key factor when Cafe Sydney executive chef James Kidman and his kitchen brigade design a new menu.

With seasonal produce the hero of Cafe Sydney’s menu, a new month sees a transition of dishes and flavours. “As early February hits, we are squeezing the last out of summer, enjoying fresh peaches, figs, tomatoes and basil which are all fantastic. Even some slow cooked items like duck leg and wagyu beef cheek have an eye towards autumn but with summer influences” James Kidman, Executive Chef.

The key player on the menu remains premium Australian seafood; the essence of Cafe Sydney’s portfolio of flavours. The additions include a John Dory, crab and bean minestrone topped with shellfish nage and basil oil which makes the most of this season’s flavoursome tomatoes; a zesty Queensland prawn, scallop, cauliflower yoghurt cream, samphire, nasturtium with lemon dressing; and a Humpty Doo barramundi served with confit tomato, asparagus, caper eschalot dressing and lemon mayonnaise that draws out the flavour of this exceptional quality fish.

We look forward to welcoming you soon so you can experience it for yourself. You won’t be disappointed.

POSTED 10 MARCH 2016

As leading go to guide, Urban List said when naming our Salted Caramel Martini No 7 in its top 50 Best Cocktails “its not just Cafe Sydney’s sweeping panoramic views that make it such a popular destination….. it’s the perfect spot for a long lunch, romantic dinner or a celebratory cocktail.” But don’t wait to for a celebration to enjoy this totally decadent liquid indulgence. Our Cafe Sydney mixologists have perfected the right balance of vodka, schnapps, kahlua, salted caramel sauce and yes, fresh cream. Try it at home too.

Cafe Sydney’s Salted Caramel Martini:
30ml x 42 Below Vodka
15ml x Teichenne Butterscotch Schnapps
15ml x Kahlua
20ml x Salted Caramel sauce
20ml x Fresh Cream

Coat a martini glass rim with sea salt (try rubbing a thin layer of Schnapps around the rim to help the salt stick)
Combine all ingredients in a shaker with ice
Briskly shake, then strain into glass
